Repealing it will save them their jobs, but only time will tell what effect it has on their dignity.
A lot of people have been reacting to this far more strongly than I did - I just... couldn't. When I think of all the harm the policy has caused (there's a chance that 9/11 wouldn't have happened at all if they hadn't fired so many gay translators) and how many asshats dragged their feet, I'm almost too tired to celebrate, :(.
Don't get me wrong - it's a step forward. But a LOT more steps remain to be taken.
