JJ Abrams Can Go And Do Something Really Offensive

So I watched the season premiere of Fringe tonight.  So it really, really sucked.  Sucked to the point where I'm not even sure I want to watch the show anymore.

Don't get me wrong, the acting is still top-notch and I still love the characters, but here's the thing:

I'VE SEEN THIS FLIPPIN' PLOT POINT BEFORE.

He did it on Alias, with Francie.  Hell, he's DONE IT ON FRINGE BEFORE, WITH CHARLIE.

Third time?  Not the charm, m'kay? 

It's bad writing that speaks to a lack of imagination on the part of the show's writers.

Not cool, Mr. Abrams, not cool, :(.

ETA: I just remembered that he actually did this TWICE on Alias and a couple of times on Lost as well, so um, yeah - FAIL.

PS Does anyone happen to have a 'FAIL' icon I could gank?  I've been getting into icons more lately and it seems like one I should have in my arsenal, ;).

Basically, it's having a duplicate take over for a main character in order to infiltrate the good guys. And as I said, they've already done it once on Fringe when Olivia's partner got killed by a shapeshifting assassin a while back.

So, um, yeah. I think that there should be a rule that if you've already used a weak plot point once, you shouldn't be allowed to use it again, :(.

I can't actually remember the ep this icon comes from, I haven't watched next-gen in forever (must marathon watch) but I'm a great fan of al the series except TOS.
