Writer's Block: Remote control

teleen_fiction[Error: unknown template qotd]Do I have a favorite TV show right now? I like "Doctor Who," but I watched the new episode two days late. I watch "Law and Order: UK & SVU," but neither of them are "must-sees".
I REALLY enjoyed the first episode of "Person of Interest" - it was fast-paced and beautifully written, but until it's been on a while I don't want to get too attached.
Let's see - "Fringe" is a lot of fun and the new season looks promising, so it's definitely in the running.
I like "Eureka" and am sad that they're canceling it after next season. I like "Warehouse 13," but that's more about cast chemistry than the actual plots, which are kinda hokey sometimes.
But is there a show that I really LOVE on right now? A show that I feel cheated if I miss one? A show that really speaks to me as a person?
Okay, yeah.
Dexter. I LOVE Dexter. I like the books, but Micheal C. Hall made the character (almost) human. Yes, there have been weak seasons (two, for example) and occasionally I want to smack the writers for making Deb so utterly clueless, but overall, yep, right now Dexter is my favorite show, because Dexter is my favorite character.
Yes, he's amoral and a serial killer, but the people he kills are (for the most part) bad guys. Not just bad guys - murderers. Murderers who have gotten away with it, something that I think we all can agree is a Bad Thing.
The only thing I don't like about it is that they've pretty much built the series so that it will be over when Dexter is finally caught and that, I don't want. I'm hoping I'm wrong and he'll just stop killing instead. Because I don't think he deserves to go to jail (and yes, I know there was that guy in the bathroom last season, but even so - I'd rather have him out there fighting the bad fight and being a good dad than see him get executed). I guess that makes me a bad person.
Oh, well, :).
