Why do I keep watching this show?

I've watched it since it came out, not because I believe in psychic phenomena (I emphatically don't), but because I love Patricia Arquette and have since "A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 3".

I also like who plays her husband, who was awesome in the "Dawn of the Dead" remake. I like the guys who play the DA and the cop as well.

What I don't like are a few plot tropes that have been around since the show started in 2005 (it's only been around six years? Huh, somehow it seemed longer than that...)

1) People close to her still deny Allison's psychic ability. Never mind that she regularly dreams the descriptions of murder victims; if the person is someone who's 'above suspicion', they still doubt her.

2) Her husband is still surprised when Allison wakes up blind or deaf or as a different person.

3) Even after winning hundreds of cases because of her, the DA sometimes will still tell her that she hasn't given him enough to go on.

4) When she KNOWS she doesn't have enough to go on, she'll still go to the DA and expect him to pull an arrest warrant out of his ass.

5) The kids are all psychic who are right even more often than Allison is, but the parents (especially the dad) still walk around clueless a lot of the time when it comes to listening to their visions.

6) The dad again - half the time he's willing to accept the multitude of psychics surrounding him and use them to his advantage. The other half he acts like their dreams aren't reliable and/or their feelings should be dismissed. *headdesk*

The entire show is as inconsistently written as Gwen Cooper's character in Torchwood and yet I still keep watching it. I'm a masochist.

To be fair, I often watch it on fast-forward, but I just can't seem to give it up, lol.
