Okay, That's It! Back Under My Rock...

So I'm over at [livejournal.com profile] ontd_political, reading this post with live election results, and my brain breaks.

It's broken forever, poppets.  When a proposition in MO TO BAN  FUCKING PUPPY MILLS can't pass, my faith in the humanity of my fellow man in this country has taken a sharp dive straight into the Grand Canyon.

Not to mention that my Governor, Ted Strickland, lost.  Meaning the my vote, DIDN'T FUCKING COUNT.  And don't give me some shit about how every vote counts.  If he lost by one vote or one million, he still fucking lost, making my state even more fucked up than it was before.

The only thing that gives me any shred of hope is that politicians fucking suck at doing anything. Oh, wait - that's DEMOCRATS.

Republicans are fucking aces at getting shit done.  Too bad it's mostly racist, homophobic, pro-rich, anti-environment pro-corporate shit.

Oh, and if you voted Republican and you make less than $250,000 a year?  Congratulations, you've voted against your own self-interest and in favor of the party that wants to turn back the clock to the 1950's (except, y'know, the part where the rich paid 90% taxes).

Fuck you, U.S.  Fuck you and the fail!boat you've decided to sail on.

I may not be American but my partner is and she is unable to watch the news today ... to us it seems like the banks screw up and the poor pay up twice over - because the right wing politicians manage to blame the left wing ones and stir up hatred ... the same happened here when the COnservatives took power after the backlash against the Labour party and are now attacking the poor, the old and the infirm alike by cutting back on social services ...

I have the same feelings towards those who vote for rightwing politicians out of knee jerk reaction and have no idea of the damage they are going to do to the majority ...

I suspect the Tea Party gangs of having done a lot of the damage in the US ... I feel for you, it sucks when those with privilege already then take power ... and they get there by appealing to the more despicable traits in humanity ...

I'd say god help us all ... but I don't think there is one outside of our imagination, so I'll toast the FSM and dine on noodles ...

thinking of you ...

With the Supreme Court giving carte blanche for anyone and everyone to buy our elections, the stupid sheeple were led to the slaughter.

Thanks for your thoughts - I need them today, :).

That isnothing I live in GA and they, the citizens of the peach state, refused to pass a bill that would rase money for truma centers. I as most folk in Ga leave early so folk will worry if we are late due to Georgia rual ature and lack of medical centers.

I heard about that - *wince*.

*hugs*

I couldn't believe how many people yesterday asked me if I was going to vote--and one customer actually told me who to vote for and why. *headdesk*

Frankly, I had little doubts that any of the running politicians were worth my vote.

...yeah I didn't vote and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Because they all sucked and again I am very doubtful that any of them were going to get shit done.

For the record, I'm of the opinion that you're still allowed to complain even if you didn't vote. Our system is so broken right now that voting seems like an exercise in futility.

Ditto on the voting--what good has it done when the people with the money can override the voting process?

Or influence the voting process to such a degree as this last time, :(.

I was telling my coworkers this earlier:

A worker supporting the Republicans is like a chicken who supports KFC.

I'm not too happy today, either.

That is an utterly brilliant analogy, :).

I saw it on a bumper sticker during the 2008 election.

I'm beginning to think every brilliant thing I've ever seen, I've seen on a bumper sticker.

Or an icon, lol.
