Firefighters Watch As A House Burned Down

Firefighters watch as a house burned down.

And three dogs and a cat died.  No, no people, but four living beings died horrible deaths because a man forgot to mail in a $75 fee.

We, as a society, should be ashamed of ourselves.

It's something that's a fairly new concept here (within the last 20 years), from what I understand.

I was going to say something about headdesking forever, but I just can't bring myself to be at all flippant here.

This sickens me on many levels.

Those firefighters are just lucky that no person died there.

It's just awful. Paris started providing free fire services in 1733, you'd have thought that the rest of the world could have caught up.

I feel like Britain has so much to answer for sometimes :( We exported our bloody stupid ideas when they were at their most bloody and stupid

Eh, I don't blame Britain, :).
